Self Improvement Goals : The Art Of Self Improvement

The Art Of Self Improvement

There is no doubt about it: Self-improvement is a big business. No matter where we look we see men wearing business suits and luxurious hair. The small microphones of the sports ears, talking to us as if they had attended the annual general meeting of their self-improvement business, which I think, is not that far from the truth. They speak to us at the sound; “I'm gunna showing you that…”, “you just need to follow my plan: no thought required; just follow the plan ”. Success and victory, they preach to spectators, is a certainty.

But is self-improvement a reality? If, like me, you believe that self-improvement is a never-ending process, you know that the only sure thing is that the quest for self-improvement is far from certain. The journey will involve more failures than success, more losses with gains and more confidence than we think we can endure. The only way to improve ourselves is to challenge the practices and ideas we have accumulated along the way. Getting out of the way without the assurance of getting what we want requires courage

No ‘success plan’ can imagine such a course of action! So, if we can get help from self-improvement ‘gurus’, who can we turn to? I believe the answer is, to look at people who are constantly exploring all aspects of the human condition. They did not always get the answer, but they all had the courage. Of course, they are world artists. How can a drawing help us to reach our self-improvement goal? Yes, some paintings help to bring peace and a sense of inner peace; I feel this whenever I look at the Impressionist painting, especially the drawings of Berthe Morisot.

He was not seen as a great artist during his lifetime; she was demoted to the category of “female” artists because of her familiar story - women, children, and home scenes. His drawings are very close. He is an example of someone who did not give up on pursuing what he thought was right when he was neglected. Jackson Pollock instills a different but equally powerful feeling. I have always believed that all modern artists "just throw a little paint on a piece of cloth and call it art". The ideas I had seen before were removed when I was lucky enough to go to a show dedicated to his work.

His paintings were beautiful and challenged the way I look at painting. Internal search is about challenging your currently held views. Music is probably the easiest art for us to embrace and help us in our quest for self-improvement. How often does a piece of music make us feel happy, free, in love, in hope, and fulfilled? You can name it, the music beats all the buttons. My favorite music is Beethoven. His music makes me feel all of the above. He was a man who received nothing but perfection. He filters redemption through his music. In the end, she did not find it and spent most of her life feeling alone.

But his courageous conviction made his life, as well as many others, better. His last words were, "Applause, my friends, the comedy is over." Perhaps our greatest inspiration comes from the authors. They have helped me, along with millions of others, to find the inner person. Life can be a very poor thing without our great writers. I will not call on all the writers who inspired me; there are too many. But if there is one thing I would urge you to do, read on. If you are not sure who to read then go to the library and ask! Tell a librarian what you want to hear, feel or read while reading a book. They will help you; do not let embarrassment overwhelm you.

If you can't get to the library then join an online reading club. What I have found is that people, who love to read, like to help others read books. So, forget about shopping for those testosterone, all-encompassing success, ebooks and DVDs. Go look at the drawing; or lie on a couch and listen to music, perhaps dance around it, cry with it, make love in its time; or wrap yourself up and read a morning book where you never thought possible. You may not get where you want to go, but Art will accompany you every step of the way.
